Fidel Castro's Family

In a small village of Silanga Kibera Slums, you will meet a young humble orphaned Fidel Castro. Fidel is one of the few who never saw their mother, leave alone tasting the breast milk. His mother died at maternity ward during delivery, leaving the Fidel in the hands of nurses, who referred him to the incubator. But his problem never ended there since after one year he was released to his drunkard father, who later died few months later too, leaving Fidel at the hands of his old grandmother. You can notice the age of Fidel and his body, it tells all about retarded growth. His hopes were dwindling day after another, being an orphan and no one to take good care of him and pay for his schooling, when we first spotted him just by the road during school days, were concerned and he was able to lead us to where they stay, in which we booked time to interview his grandmother. The story was touching and during our 2012 kids intake, Fidel was among the few lucky kids who were enrolled in our Kids Program. He now enjoys free basic education and two meals a day. We have also introduced him to Kibera Kids Bible Club classes during weekends.Help Fidel get good clothes, shoes and beddings..
Today they were the lucky family to receive food donation from a friend  I think this is making sense....!!!!
You can be the next to feed another needy family.

Boniface Omondi's Family
Today 11th. September 2012 I met my good friend  who bought food stuffs and other basic needs for me to deliver to a needy family in Kibera.
On my arrival to Kibera I jumped over the open sewers, went through corridors trying to locate the house of Mr. Boniface Omondi, its been long since I was there and since most houses in Kibera are almost the same. The wife to Mr. Boniface picked me when I was almost lost. From there she led me to the family house which is about 5 meters from the great Nairobi dam. I found helpless Boniface in bed and I assisted the wife to carry him from bed and put him on the wheel chair. He narrated to me when and how is diseases started, imagine 2 years in bed crippled by a disease unknown even to the doctors, Its so so sad. On our second year of operation of Kibera Kids Program, one of his sons managed to secure a place and was among those recruited in 2008, by then we were only new about the extreme poverty they were going through, they would go out in the morning to look for any casual job in the out skirts of Kibera Slums to fetch for little money they would get to cater for some family needs, but in 2011, uninvited guest in the name of disease pushed his way through this house, sending the sole bread winner and the father to this family to bed. When I was approached by then, I went and saw the situation and agreed to recruit one more kid from the family to our center, right now we have recruited all the 3 kids to our center in which they enjoy free basic education and two meals a day, but problems of this family is not over yet. Washington Onyango is now in Grade 2, Martin Othar in Pre-Unit, Ferdinand Tito in Baby class. The man is in bed, can’t walk or do anything by himself, which means his wife must be close to him all the time, its fortunate that the kids take breakfast and lunch at school during school working days, but ask yourself this quiz.., rent needs to be paid, they need food at home, clothing, shoes and other basic needs ??? This is another opportunity you can stand tall to be counted, this is another time you can activate your blessings, any help towards this family will be to the glory of God, COME ON !!!!! I believe together we can pay them rent, give them food and clothing & shoes. We can as well assist this woman who is now the bread winner start a small business here in the slums. Don’t hesitate to contact us .
